A2A and MSFS 2024 - A Little Update
To the A2A Community,
We realise we’ve been rather quiet recently, so here’s a quick update on how things stand as the release date for MSFS 2024 fast approaches.
The Current Comanche 250 in MSFS 2024
We were granted access to the MSFS 2024 dev alpha last month, and based on the testing we’ve done so far, the existing version of the Comanche works well in the new simulator. There may be a few issues that do need addressing, but core Accu-Sim features like the external aerodynamics engine are playing nicely with the new sim. In other words, we hope you’ll be able to enjoy your Comanche in MSFS 2024 on day one, or very soon after.
Once we have access to the final build of MSFS 2024, we should be able to fully assess any remaining issues, and if all looks good, we’ll post some details on how to transfer your Comanche files and aircraft state to the new sim.
(Update link to thread for getting your Comanche into 2024: viewtopic.php?t=77310 )
Updating the Comanche to the MSFS 2024 SDK
MSFS 2024 adds a set of new features, but also new requirements for aircraft developers. That means it's not a trivial task to update the aircraft to the new SDK. We're still evaluating how much work would be needed, and which new sim features we'd include if we did. No final decision has been made yet as to whether we’ll release a ‘native’ MSFS 2024 version of the Comanche.
But to reiterate, this only applies to an updated, native version of the product for MSFS 2024. Your current version of the Accu-Sim Comanche should work in the new sim just as it does in MSFS 2020, including our own walkaround system, custom flight model, and persistent aircraft and engine simulation.
Future Releases from A2A
Work on the Aerostar 600 is ongoing and it's shaping up to be a great aircraft in the sim. Unfortunately, though, the release date has slipped to 2025. We are sorry about that, but it’s partly because we now need to consider new requirements of the MSFS 2024 SDK, as mentioned above. Rest assured, developing aircraft for Microsoft Flight Simulator is still our top priority and we plan to release more Accu-Sim aircraft down the road, not just the Aerostar.
Thank you for sticking by us in the meantime!

My vote to push in another little yellow Piper to bridge the time gap
Thanks Nick. Good news although I wish you guys would come towards us yourselves, the silence is really unsettling, although certainly not with bad intentions.. I do not think the A2A clientel is the typical entitled and unbehaved type who needs the silent treatment to not annoy and fight everyone ^^

Re: A2A and MSFS 2024 - A Little Update
I really appreciate your communication. It was as I expected - FS2024 has so many news to offer but requires a extension redesign/Expansion of accusim 2.0 to use all features. Tough decision to make, and it would seem it makes sense to evaluate the options.
I would love to see New Planes that use all features of the new sim like dirt, ground Model, wear and tear and so on, but if this would take 2 or 3 years to finish the probably we already see fs2028 on the horizon.
Whatever you build, I buy it unseen.

I'm hoping they don't change their own Accu-Sim wear and tear, as MSFS 2024's wear and tear (and dirt/persistence/etc.) only works in career mode. I intend to do free flight only.Michael-C172pilot wrote: ↑08 Nov 2024, 14:05 I would love to see New Planes that use all features of the new sim like dirt, ground Model, wear and tear and so on, but if this would take 2 or 3 years to finish the probably we already see fs2028 on the horizon.

I agree. Some "best of both worlds" would be great.
Re: A2A and MSFS 2024 - A Little Update
Any Cessna or Beechcraft Would be great! I am excited to test The Comanche in MS2024 and see what’s coming next on 2025.
Great Job and thanks!

It's good to hear development is shaping up on porting the Comanche over to MS24!
I cannot wait to see what the future holds for A2A and our many favorite aircraft!

Re: A2A and MSFS 2024 - A Little Update
Anyone know how to install Comanche in MSFS2024 while also still having it in 2020? I’m not ready to delete 2020 yet, want to ensure plugins etc have a chance to update

Copy your packages and community folders that include the Comanche data (pa_24_xxx) I believe

Hi all
I also have it working fine in MS2024, however, I don't see a pilot in external view
Is this to be expected until it is officially released for MSFS 2024.
Definitely not a show stopper but just wondering if it was possible.
Best wishes.
Bob

Re: A2A and MSFS 2024 - A Little Update
This is a recent bug that currently affects all aircraft built with 2020 SDK in the new simulator. Even the Mircrosoft ones that are part of Aviator edition. It will probably get patched by Asobo soon.
Nick has posted a more detailed instructions how you can transfer your aircraft, including airframe hours here: viewtopic.php?t=77310

Re: A2A and MSFS 2024 - A Little Update
How should I install the Comanche in MSFS2024, only copy the folder "a2a-aircraft-pa24" to the community folder of 2024? Or can/should I use the installer?
