I have a Garmin GNS530 and standard Narco radio (oddly labelled COM 2 with a sticker but that's another puzzle).
I'm parked at Heathrow airport with just the Garmin turned on.
The Garmin seems to have a radio and is tuned to the right ATIS frequency.
When I switch between active and standby frequency in the Garmin it triggers the ATIS announcement.
If I switch the Garmin away from the ATIS frequency then the ATIS message stops speaking.
Now if I turn on the Narco radio and have the volume dial all the way round to the right - and tune in the ATIS frequency - I can't hear the announcement.
Not even if I switch between COM1 and COM2 and BOTH in the panel above. All quiet.
So I have the Garmin radio working but not the NARCO.
I'm puzzled.....
Narco Radio no ATIS
Re: Narco Radio no ATIS
Hi, in addition to tuning the frequeny and turning the volume up you must click on the com2 button in the audio panel above the gps so it turns yellow.
Did you do that?

Re: Narco Radio no ATIS
I've found the reason.
Heathrow ATIS is 121.935 MHz
If you use the standard radio frequency gap you can set the Narco display to 121.93 MHz.
But there's a hidden click of the control to set to 121.935 MHz but of course with only 2 digits showing you can't see the hidden .005 MHz as it is not displayed.
I was clicking past the .935 setting before the ATIS had time to start.
The obvious answer is to go to the advanced settings and set the 8.33 MHz option and then you can see the third decimal place on the Narco radio.
