Hi all
I know the 182 is a great plane for realism and enjoy that but the kap 140 is driving me mad.
I use it just for the heading and all is fine till I make an adjustment either with the headingbug or the trim up down.
It immediately beeps at me and switches off.
Surely this doesn’t happen in the real world.
Any advice welcome.

Re: Kap140 auto pilot very quirky
Hi Art,
The KAR 140 autopilot will disconnect if you make inputs with the manual electric trim. Correct procedure is to make sure the aircraft is properly in trim before you engage. Once the autopilot is engaged, it uses servos to control the elevator trim tab along with the elevator and ailerons.
However, moving the heading bug shouldn't cause the AP to disengage.
Thanks,
Nick
