Hi there.
I have been out of simming a bit so I dont know if FSX STEAM is still supported.
Also my problem might habe been reported already.
When I display the Civil P51 Pilots Map (shift-5), FSX SE starts to micro stutter.
I have narrowed it down to the TERR function of the map.
If I turn off TERR (or the whole Pilots Map obviously) then the micro stutters go away.
I am on Win7 in case it matters and use FSX STEAM in full screen mode.

Hello,
the map is the FSX map being shown. Do you get stutters when using maps in other aircraft or the GPS'es etc?
Just to check you have the FSX updates installed too for the Mustang;

Re: stutters with Pilots Map (shift-5)
I never use a MAP or GPS, so I cant tell you that.
I fly by instruments mostly (needles).
The reason I like to use the MAP on the Civil Mustang is cause it gives me a bigger display of VOR/NDB needles.
So for me...TERR-off solves the problem (dont need terrain).
I just wanted to let you guys know that the map causes stutters (here).
Do you not have the same effect on your PC?
Please check in FULL SCREEN mode (not windowed mode)!
I installed an accusim update a few weeks ago so I am pretty up to date I think.
(will check version later)
Or is there a separate P51 update (besides the Accusim update)?

Hello,
there is just the Accu-sim updater for FSX.
Please do try what I said as the issue could be with your FSX itself if whenever you are using the G1000 maps etc in the default sim your sim stutters.
thanks,

G1000? whats that?....sounds like a nav set I have never used (not in real life nor in the sim).
I dont know how to display a map or a G1000 on other aircraft.
Do you know of a default aircraft that has a map or G1000 set?
And do you know how to turn that on?

Hello,
any of the default aircraft with a GPS, including the larger G1000 type of glass cockpits will do. The C172 G1000 for example.
thanks,
