P3Dv5 HDG and other bugs move in 10 deg

Post by freemind »

Changing the HDG our CRS bug it moves only in increments of 10. The interweb shows some old entries and some FSUIPC FixAcceleration solution. However I didn't find any info on the newest version.

Thanks for your help!

Hello freemind and welcome.

Bug, compass card and HSI adjustment working as expected here in P3Dv5. Are you using your mouse scroll wheel to rotate these knobs?

Also, what sort of control hardware do you have plugged in?

Thanks,

Yes, using the mousewheel. No problems in v4.

Other hardware is warthog throttle and joystick, cougar throttle and Mfg Crosswind pedals.

Okay, might be worth comparing your setting between the two sims in that case. There seems to be a few different default settings in v5: for example the default hardware input API is now "direct input" in v5 whereas it was "raw input" in v4, so this might be one to check.

Do you have FSUIPC installed in v5 by the way?

Yes, FSUIPC newest version, registered, is installed.

Changed it to RAWInput. No change.

(One other thing that does not work is the parking brake animation.)

Maybe you have some sort of control conflict between P3Dv5 and FSUIPC. For what it's worth I'm testing in v5 with registered FSUIPC6 too, and the parking brake animation is fine as well as the bug increments.

This seems to suggest it's a P3D or FSUIPC setting on your system that's causing the issues. For example, how are you controlling the parking brake?

What do you mean by "controlling"? Normally I would just click on it.

I need to correct myself that this bug only affects the CRS selector. The HDG bug runs fine.

Was just wondering if you'd assigned a hardware button or other control.

I'm pretty sure the mouse knob acceleration bug in FSX was fixed for P3Dv4 (and presumably v5) which is why the option to fix it isn't in FSUIPC any longer.

One other thing we need to check for is a modified default flight. Which aircraft currently loads with the default P3Dv5 scenario?

Nice! Deleted some assignments! That did the trick!

Thank you very much!

Also the parking brake works. However not in the sense that you need to push the brakes to set it - that happens automatically. Any way to change it?

Ah, that's good - thanks for the update.

I don't believe you can use the toe brakes in the sim in such a way that you have to push them in before applying the parking brake. However, you can use FSUIPC to adjust how much toe brake pressure is needed to release the parking brake. This is done using the "BrakeReleaseThreshold=" entry in the FSUIPC6.ini.

Cheers,
