First Video

Post by MkIV Hvd »

I'm really looking forward to the video card upgrade to sort out the poor graphics and scenery stutters, but had been practicing my old aero routine so wanted to post this as a test to see how the whole recording, editing, posting process works.

Next Video - Harvard in Tahiti

Post by MkIV Hvd »

Every year WestWind Virtual Airlines hosts a group gathering at Ken's Place (a fictional resort built by Ken Goodpaster for his retirement years) over the Christmas/New Years period and this year I brought my Harvard down to play with. I knew there was a short grass runway at the resort but didn't know it's length until after I'd landed there...on the third attempt. It turns out it is 800' and it's a good job I didn't know that prior to taking a shot at landing there, or it would never have happened. Anyway, I then needed to see if I could actually take off from there...and if the landing was a repeatable event...

Great video! And great flying as well!

You just wait until you see my next video - it is the EXACT opposite! (Should be up later today....)

The only way I could 'land' on that runway is in the water!

Although it strikes me as a good place to try that Piper J-3 Cub with Tundra tires trick where you use the water to slow down the approach!

Will catch up with the videos this weekend I hope, just in the midst of cub fever atm and after a PC failure got to fix my system this weekend when the new drives are delivered. I can also then send you the screenshots of my crashing the T-6 at that tiny strip you managed to nail in a previous vid hehe.

cheers,
