Boy I miss flying my Flight Sim and I'm very envious of you guys having all the fun. My old body finally gave out and I had to have major back surgery on October 1st. My back now has lots of metal in it and it's pretty painful most of the time. I go back to the doctors tomorrow to find out how the back is healing up and what I can and can't do, I already know I'm not allowed to lift, bend, or twist until Jan 2019. I did sneak on the Flight Sim (when the wife went to bed) the other night for a few minutes to have some fun! I did get one takeoff and a landing in the Bonanza before my lower back started to tire pretty fast so I called it a night. I can't wait for my back to recover so I can get back to flying. For now I'm enjoying the A2A posts to provide me with my flying fix!
Keep the shiny side up and the dirty side down!

Hey Cliff, Back problems are the worst! Just be sure to do everything your Physical therapist asks. It will hurt, but soon it will start to hurt good! Hang in there!

Re: Out of action!
Perhaps a new chair or chair support is in order. You can use the AFK function to take breaks

Re: Out of action!
Yup, a chair is everything, your body position is everything a correct one not only will allow you to relax properly, but enable you to gain much more control over the plane, loose it and you will loose focus on the task at hand. You should strive to have it similar to the one in the real plane or a car, a bit reclined, closer to the floor so that legs go forward not down etc.
Re: Out of action!
I’m thinking less like a real plane seat and more supportive or comfortable for someone post back surgery so they can maintain their sanity by enjoying their hobby. If flight simming makes you happy and relieves stress then you have to do so your body will heal faster.

Re: Out of action!
As one who also suffers with back pain, I can only commiserate. It's awful, in the full sense of the word. Time, exercise and posture, and a good chair are vital. I hope you get well soon; at least well enough to enjoy your hobbies.
Cheers,
Mike
