A B-17 Story

Post by Edmeister »

Years ago I used to work in retail. I have always been an airplane nut. Especially anything from
World War II. One day a lady came in the store and I noticed she had airplane earrings on. So I
asked her about them. They were B-17 earrings. She and her husband owned a B-17 and had it
hangered at Meacham field in Ft. Worth, Texas. The plane was named "Chuckie". She was Chuckie!
The plane was named after her! :o

Doc and Chuckie Hospers. She sold the plane not too long after Doc passed away and it now flies as Madras Maiden. It's on tour now with the Liberty Foundation. I plan to build it in 1/72 scale as Chuckie one of these years.
