A2A Community flight - Dec 10th

Post by Lewis - A2A »

Hello everyone,

I would like to start the community flights back up again starting Sunday Dec 10th, in the evening UK time - (exact time TBD)

I wont be streaming them live this time around as the connection here isn't up to stream standards. However the streaming was just a bonus he main part was of course flying together, so lets get that going again. I have created the A2A community discord channel, here is the URL and the end part is the invite code for using the app;
https://discord.gg/yV6CqgX

We can use that for voice comms, as last time it will be a relaxed group flight environment.

We will be using JoinFS thanks to our friends over at TheSkyLounge ( http://www.theskylounge.tv/ ) providing a great JoinFS server allow multiple sim platforms to work together in one multiplayer experience.

JoinFS;
http://pmem.uk/joinfs/development.html

Some help to get setup;

thanks,
Lewis

I think I might join in this, as I am now a man of leisure ;)

Which aircraft do you fly ? Does it matter if some are using FSX and others P3D ?

Is it possible to drop bombs on you, Lewis ? :P

No bombs like the old combat sim days I'm afraid Paul lol.

Yes you can use P3D or FSX with JoinFs, voice comms will be using the discord linked above. Hoping to make this a weekly thing again every Sunday, end of this year testing as no doubt the holiday period will cause some disruption. I'll be flying A2A aircraft of course, probably something like the Cherokee or Comanche I think, but not sure just yet.

thanks,
Lewis

Great news, Lewis, and thanks for taking this on. We had good times last time, and I recommend this to anyone else thinking of trying a group flight.

Lewis,

This sounds very appealing. Will it be possible to check in to the server prior to Dec 10 to verify that each of our systems are configured properly for multiplayer? I haven't used FSJoin yet so need to download, install & get familiar with it.

Thanks for organizing this!

Big thanks to the Skylounge for letting us populate there virtual skies with a weekly flight;

Sure sparks, I need to try and remember where we got too last time and maybe just continue on our RTW flight with distractions lol. I wont be streaming or anything and you're welcome to join and stream if you want. Hoping for a relaxed flight with grown up (post watershed) chit chat and the normal nonsense we had in the past flights. Last one to land wheels up is the loser :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

Lewis:

I just took a look in my FSX saves and found something called "lewisflight". :D It comes up on the ground at LIRI, Pontecagnano, Italy. Sound familiar?

Are we trending generally southward (towards Africa) or eastward? If the former, the Strait of Messina and Sicily are about 150 miles away; if the latter, I vote for Taranto, 114 miles away, and site of the famous 1940 Swordfish strike where we showed the Japanese how to attack capital ships in a harbour.

Taranto and its raid history sounds great for the aim of the flight and then we can just make it up as we go :mrgreen: :mrgreen:
