In addition to Lackland AFB Spence and Hondo AFBs were used for T-6 training.zsoltfireman wrote:What do you mean by this?rsgunner wrote:Have you got SPENCE or HONDO versions in the paint shop?zsoltfireman wrote:N153NA

Man this is one excellent paint may have to pick this bird up - low and slow not my cup of tea but that looks like it will changemangotango wrote:WIP
N9883C is getting close to completion.
Might consider to have 2 versions with and without the "orange" replaced part on the L wing wheel hub.
I don't really know how the N9883C looks exactly today but the orange part is a nice detail.
Now I will add the famous decal and look for what stencil is on the frame. Not sure I have seen any so far on the reference pictures I have.

LOVE 83C! Without disrespecting any of the great paints of beautifully restored aircraft - and I've been flying the chrome off John's prewar Pensacola scheme - the prospect of flying, not just a civilian scheme but a real working aircraft is just too good to pass up.mangotango wrote:WIP

It'll fit perfectly alongside Urs Burkhardt's Cubs and Cessnas in my hangar of "outsider" airplanes.
Any chance of a version with the red star decal on the left vertical stabilizer, as shown here? Or maybe one on each vertical stabilizer, as the owner says he would have done if somebody had given him another red-star decal? The red star kind of finishes it off for me.
Red star on green tail - "the tail of your airplane looks like a Heineken bottle" - priceless.
Final note: in an ideal world, there'd also be civilian, well-worn flightsuits for the crew - maybe along the lines of Sarah, Heidi's rock 'n roll sister that somebody worked up for the Cub.
But I'll take it as is - looking forward to it.

Re: Finished Repaints
Well done Ian. I had planned to do it as well. Seeing as how I already did this for another makers model. I may do it anyway, but there's no rush now.Ian P wrote:I think this is the first RAF paint on the thread... It's actually a recreation of one that turns out to belong to The Fighter Collection at Duxford. It took me quite a bit of digging to find that out, though, as most people don't seem to credit their photos of it.
Anyway...

Thank You! My home airport is Tillsonburg where CHAA is located. So many hours I've spent as the UNICOM guy at Tillsonburg refueling this airplane. So many pant bums destroyed from refueling CHAA's airplanes. (you sit on the wing to refuel, and right where the non-slip coating is. It it chews up the seat of your pants pretty quickly)

I will try to do anything you want. I have already the "orange" parh so why not continue with the red star/ stars. I have seen one pic showing the red star...Alan_A wrote:LOVE 83C!
