c-47 during WWII and is still in some parts of the world, due to it's larger load capacity and speed
What aircraft would you like to see following the Texan?

Interesting to see the different preferences as to aircraft for A2A to model. I am as most of you know a WWII military aircraft fan. The reason I would prefer the A26 is performance. It is more of a challenge to fly an aircraft of this type and it gets you to your destination in a shorter time. Droning along at 140 knots in the sim is not my idea of excitement. The DC3 as an example is iconic and the favorite of many but it is slow and not what I would call exciting. I would prefer the C46 as it is not as forgiving as the DC3. We have plenty of puddle jumpers for those that prefer them for whatever reason. I am sure we will see a Aerostar next as it would be a natural. As far as jets and helicopters go my only comment is in the Navy we called them whistling sh*t houses and shuddering sh*t houses respectively.LeighP wrote:I would really like to see the Douglas Invader A-26 produced as a sim.
Fastest WWII medium bomber, longest serving USAF piston bomber....served in three wars - served almost 30 years in total.....
A truly impressive aircraft.
Gonna get some angry responses for that remark.

my personal "would love to have by A2A" lineup:
DHC2 beaver
Piper Twin Comanche
Bonanza V-Tail
it goes on and on... but let's stop here lest I get carried away

Twin Turbo Prop. No matter which one just please make one

Turbo Commander (690/840/900/1000). Only one out there is freeware. Good exterior model. Really bad interior model. Really bad flight model. Really bad native turboprop engine model. Would be interesting to see A2A model a Garret TPE-331. The piston engine modeling here is exemplary and it would be great to see a direct drive TBP modeled accurately. There are many real-world examples with Garmin 1000 or G600/GTN750 combinations. It really is a great airplane and there are plenty of King Airs, etc. flying in the cyber airspace.Denco wrote:Twin Turbo Prop. No matter which one just please make one
I'd put my money down before the first line is coded.

Enough with the singles. We need some Accusim twins, so I hope the one they said they've had under investigation now goes into development. Accusim needs to expand it's horizons into multi engined flight, so a decent GA twin would be a good start.

Well, I think whichever the new aircraft will be, it is of paramount importance that the development team has a REAL LIFE pilot of this aircraft on its team! This for sure not only is contributing to what sets A2A in a league of itself in the world of flight simulation, but it also contributes to the very high level of the forums which are very educational and just a pleasure to read!
And if I am asked about what aircraft I am dreaming, it would be a big radial like the Bearcat F8F (I know, it's too close to the P-47...)!

TOTALLY this is my second favourite plane next to the Spitfire. Yes please an Avro Lancaster please please.....Lewis - A2A wrote:Avro Lancaster!
,..always Avro Lancaster
After this a jet aircraft would be great and some more model spitfires.
Accufeel V2, C172 , B377+L049+COTS, B17G, Piper Cub,Commanche,Cherrokee,Spitfire,Bonanza, P47,P40,both Mustangs
Aircraft Factory Avro Anson, Albatros DIII,Heinkel He-219, F4U Corsair, P51H Mustang, Avro 504, BF109

Congratulations on the AT-6 Texan. It is a hoot to fly.
I would like to see A2A release the Martin B-26.

(quick, before they all run out)
Re: What aircraft would you like to see following the Texan?
For the different ones: Wildcat, Airacobra and for twin engines: Black widow. If you want cold war then Skyraider.

Re: What aircraft would you like to see following the Texan?
An Airacobra (P-39) might be a good addition to A2A's development list, as it was a tricky plane to fly properly. Like the T-6
But I'm sticking with the request that the next A2A active development be a GA twin. You have to walk before you run, and while planes like Lancasters and C-46's would be great if done to A2A's standards, they're much more complicated because of they're multi engine design. No-one has yet brought the real flight characteristics of multi engined flight to the FS world, and I think that if you want to understand this point properly, then we'll all need to learn how to handle more than 1 engine. Real world pilots with a twin endorsement will understand this point better than desktop pilots.
Cheers,
Mike
