The 1960 Collection: Which Comanche is for You?

Post by Tol3458 »

I got a copy of a Piper sales brochure for the Comanche from 1960. Here's a link to the posted album.

Near the back is description and graphic depicting the various color combinations available. Here, through the magic of photoshop and the A2A paint kit, I've recreated all variants of the 1960 livery, which includes foreign registrations for Great Britain, Mexico and Germany. Here they are--fresh off the assembly line--tied down at Lock Haven, PA. Below are close-up images with links to download the repaints.

Love D-EMIV, especially as I've been recently in email contact with the previous owner, who restored it to its current condition. Also it is currently on sale, again (for whatever reason): http://www.planecheck.com?ent=da&id=26763

I advise a good prebuy though, because the current owner only held that plane for a year or so, so I assume there's something amiss somewhere. But this is definitely tempting, oh yes!

I downloaded D-EMIW and it looks great! There's not a lot of German repaints out for the Comanche (in RL or the sim). Thanks for that!!

Do you think it would be possible to put the registration also in the bottom side of the left wing? It's required here that aircraft have the reg number on the bottom of the left wing. Just to satisfy the need for realism in the sim

Thanks for considering!

Unfortunately I don't have the required funds to run a puppy like that in RL

That's quite a catalogue you've painted. Very nice.

Thanks,

Neither do I, otherwise I'd already have flown up there and paid a visit :)
