C182 Repaint (U.S. FORESTRY SERVICES)

Post by EightyFiftyFive »

By request: Fictional... well sort of. I haven't seen this design on a 182 but who knows maybe they'll get one now lol.

Here's a couple of real planes with this design:

Thank you Scott. Yeah I really like it. Just somethin bout it. Cheers!.
Repainted the pilot to match a bit too... (Shirt, Jeans, Cap).

Know what really funny? I only have about 20 minutes in this plane LOL I guess I'll have to take a break and do a little XC.

Super Alan,thanks a lot.

Are you going to do shiny metal repaint of the 182?

I would really like a paint of the old style shiny metal lower fuselage and cloured top half.

Thanks again.

Thanks everyone!.

John,
Something like that. Anti-Glare panel matte finish with some wear like Oxidation of the paint and weather beaten. Also starting to roughen up a bit from microscopic cracks due to the wear, temperatures, rain, sun... especially down here in Florida.

Maybe but nothing like that soon. Want to get a couple of recreations going that I've been looking at.

Beautiful stuff, there's something about the 182 that makes it look really good in "formal uniform" (e.g. USFS or CAP). And it would really be a shame to have a plane look so beautiful and stand idle, so here's a nice little utility I saw mentioned in another forum that will keep it busy:

https://github.com/ollyau/FSActiveFires/releases

Essentially, it downloads data from NASA's FIRMS site and inserts active fires in FSX/P3D (the fire/smoke effect is actually rather nice).

Tym,

I use FSActiveFires to determine ALL my virtual flights. Something different every time.
