A couple of wise chaps on these boards have warned that this repainting thing is compelling. I see what they mean! However, the more time I spend tinkering around with the textures, the more impressed I am with the accuracy of the 3D model and artwork. Michal Puto's fantastic work really does justice to the lovely lines of the old girl. Cheers also Mike for the fantastic paint kit which has allowed even a novice like myself to enjoy creating some liveries for the first time.
This is N38GH, a Cherokee 180 C which is based in The Sunshine State. (http://www.airport-data.com/aircraft/ph ... 5020L.html) Not sure why I took such gloomy screenshots then!
The file can be downloaded here.
All the best,
Nick

Thanks guys! Just to let you know I've created an Ozzie version of this repaint as requested by Mike from Western Australia (Dogsbody55): it's available here.
I quite fancy having a crack at a 'proper' (i.e. non-fictional) Australian Cherokee, but there don't seem to be too many 180C models Down Under...

There's a few around Check out the photos at Airliners.net. Here's a few samples, if any take your fancy.

Or... none of the above. If you do decide to have a go at another Aussie Cherokee, that would be great. Thanks again for doing VH-UEI. And for anyone interested in some freeware airfields in Western Australia, here's a link for you. Some no longer exist, but I've installed them anyway. I've flown into a couple in real life, and have to say that the author has done a good job with them.

Re: N38GH - lovely lines - thanks Mike!
Well - turns out there are a few 180C's based in Oz. I had a look at VH-WOL, VH-MBH, VH-WPB and VH-WAF - a lovely blue 'factory' livery based in WA.
However, it was one of the links Mike (from Perth) posted: VH-PXD which caught my eye!
She's actually a 235 Cherokee B so the paint job below is somewhat fanciful. As with N38GH I've used the 'emblem' model and a little artistic licence with the badges. However, it's available here if anybody fancies it...
All the best,
Nick

Wow, Nick, what a beauty. I think you painted the nicest looking one of that bunch I posted. Wish A2A had done a 235 version too when they released the Cherokee, but I understand that there are airframe differences. From what I've read, it would have been something of a hot rod.
Thanks very much for doing this one, Nick. It will see some hours flown from my hangar
Cheers,
Mike

Nice looking planes gentlemen!

Actually the "gloomy" really accentuates the bright color of the plane. Beautiful job Nick!Nick M wrote:Not sure why I took such gloomy screenshots then!
