A2A Sim - LIVE Test flight monday Facebook updates

Post by Lewis - A2A »

Hello everyone,

Scott is today out with the Piper Cherokee on a test flight. The weather is looking great after the last canceled attempt last Friday. He will be posting little updates on the A2A facebook page throughout the test, providing a little further insight into what we do. Heres the link to our facebook page, its public so I don't belive you need to be signed to view the page, updates and images;

Although the last test session was canceled due to the weather (as you can see in the following photos) some standard R&D was still carried out whilst on site with the aircraft. Here's a few images from the canceled Friday session, just some basic bits and pieces but we hope it gives you an insight into how we work.

Some updates so far from our FB page https://www.facebook.com/A2ASimulations

Readying the Comanche to fly to Hartford, where we're taking two Piper Cherokees up for test flights today.

We're flying both the tapered wing and constant chord (hersheybar) wing today. This is a 160 hp Warrior. All preflighted and cameras set. Great day for a test flight.

A couple more updates from Scott's test day thus far. Back from the first flight. Captured a lot of good stuff today.

Next up, the hersheybar wing.

12,000 ft, test and measure all kinds of things at different altitudes. You can see NYC off in the distance.

Scott's last shot of the day;

"Here's a shot departing Hartford after a very successful day testing those two Cherokees. That constant chord hersheybar wing makes for a very nice airplane. We measured 65 deg / sec roll rate at VNE (never exceed speed). The flaps are also wonderfully balanced. I owned a Warrior just like the one we flew today with the semi-tapered wing, but if I were to buy one again, it would be no doubt be a hersheybar wing. I think we made the right choice with a Cherokee 180. I was speaking with Mitchell on the way home and he calls it the 180hp model the "Goldilocks" of all Cherokees."

Lewis,

I was wondering... Given that Scott test flew both an older Cherokee, as well as a (relatively) newer Cherokee (with the semi-tapered wing), is that any indication that we might see multiple variants of the Cherokee from A2A, either with the initial release, or at some point in the future (as was the case with the civilian Mustang)?

Thanks,

Jeff

Look forward to the release of the Cherokee and would you consider doing a PA38 Tomahawk?

My flying school in the UK has Tomahawks, Cherokee and Warrior so it would be cool to be able to those models in FSX and there are a lot of older Tomahawks in use at UK flying schools.

Dave
