UPDATE - New texture pack uploaded - Fixed Textures.

Post by ICDP »

Please re-download the texture pack from the Paintkit and Skinpack threead here. http://www.a2asimulations.com/forum/vie ... 93&t=29843

This updated skinpack includes new default textures with a more reflective metallic look, also included are the additional skins from the previous pack. I also fixed a problem with a panel that should not be on the right rear fuselage. Unfortunately this means any skins done since release and before now (03 June) will need to be repainted. My apologies to any skinners out there, but I felt it was worth fixing rather than ignoring this minor issue.

Direct link to download.

Instructions
Simply download and extract the contents to your FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\WoP3_P51D folder, overwrite all files. If you have downloaded the texture pack previously please delete the texture.N514DK folder in the WoP3_P51D folder.

NOTE: Be sure to check the [fltsim.XX] numbers do not conflict with any other skins in your texture folder.

Some samples of what this texture update does.

Martin,

Thank you so much for these updates and the new paintkit. I was finally able to get that high buff shine that I've been looking for for so long. I posted a few shots of the glorious results in my earlier post at the bottom http://a2asimulations.com/forum/viewtop ... 57#p228257 to illustrate the shine.
Thanks again.

Unable to download both files on Sunday evening. Hangs up part way through. I'll try again Monday.

Thanks for the updates.

I installed your skins... they are incredible. The metallic looks really brings the plane alive.

Thanks for the update. The "modern warbird" skins look incredible.

About that corrected panel: Did you made that change only to your skins or to the paintkit or how should I take that piece of information?
I'm asking because Scott did not put a “update” flag at the paintkit download in the sticky topic so I'm a little confused.

The panel change is on the default skins and those in the skinpack, I also changed the bumpmaps with the same fix. The new paintkit has the fixes incorporated, so any new repaints should be done on the new paintkit. Any previously released skins will still work, they will just have a panel slightly misplaced.

Thank you for your efforts (and for your patience while getting still bothered about shinier paints even though you already said multiple times that you were working on it. :D )

I installed the previous texture pack, but did not have the texture.warbird folder. My P-51 folder now looks like this, is this correct?

Hi Chunk, your folder listing looks fine. You should have the following A2A WoP3 P-51Ds in your aircraft list.

'Kwitcherbitchin'

'Blondie'

'FF-064'

'Sunny VIII'

'McSwine'

'112 Sqdn'

'375th FS'

'N514DK'

'MoonBeam'

Martin.
Thanks.
I just noticed that Scott did indeed put an update flag on the paintkit. I shouldn't write stuff after night shift...
