That was terrible torture when they did that, but funny and creative none the less. Hope the P-40 isn't going around. Do have lots of flying to catch up on anyway though. I finally pushed the Spit past 4psi of boost the other day. First to 8, and then I maxed her out. So far nothings broken. 8) Guess time will tell with that. I did do my first barrel roll too. THAT was scary when the engine cut out right as I rolled upside down. Luckily it sputtered back to life after I got the wings level again as I really had nowhere to ditch it in the city and I was at low altitude... Can't wait to do that stuff with the P-51.

Guys,

Sorry for being so quiet. Quite is usually good over here however :)

We just finished taking some screenshots for the release, which we have the green light for so any day now... I try to get these as high res as possible, without messing up the formatting on the forums. As usual, there is no editing of these shots (no contrast, sharpening, etc.), just a straight screenshot from a stock version of FSX.

For the first time as well, we have four completely different pilots. U.S., British, AVG (American Volunteer Group), and Russian.

Don't get me wrong, lately Carenado has been backing up their pretty models with good flight dynamics, but go P-40 all the way...

I just put together a new rig a few days ago and just took the A2A spit for a treetop, between the buildings, full throttle ride, with all the sliders maxed, at a locked 30fps, in Orbx's PNW downtown seattle, with Skynards "Sweet Home Alabama" playing full tilt and had an absolute fricken blast. God I cant wait for the Mustang, Phantom and Starfighter.

My humble opinion...

Top Three Aircraft addon devs... A2A, VRS and PMDG. Maybe in order of my preference :D

Buzz, what are your computer specs? I'll be upgrading mine in a few days, want to know what I should realistically be aiming for :)

Alec

I went from an Old Q9650 build to...

i52500k
Asus P8Z68 Mb
2x4 gigs of ddr3 1600 @ 9's
GTX560 (came from old build)
XpPro64 (From Old Build)
And some old ass 7200 sata drives (LOL, From like 3 builds ago)

I'm running the above system at 4.0 and vcore of 1.256 (Core temps never exceeding 44c) with the memory at stock overclock and the GPU at stock freq and I'm in FSX heaven. This thing runs faster at 3.3 than my 9650 did at 4.05. And the jump from 3.3 to 4.0 is tremendous in terms of FSX performance. For a test, I ran the cpu multiplyer to 45 with the current settings and had more frames then I knew what to do with, so I settled in at 4.0. My non FSX OC is at 3.3 with a 1.15 vcore.

The prices on the i5's are dropping fast, so you will probably be able to get one around 160 USD in a few days. I spent 480USD on the CPU, Ram and MB. Some will tell you to wait for the new IB chips, but I say wait till they have ironed out all the growing pains and just get an i5 now. The i7's are now 1/3 to 1/2 more expensive than the i5's and you will only be getting 2-5% at the most increase in performance over the i5.

Looks absolutely spectacular Scott & company. Any chance of a Pearl Harbor scheme (i.e. Welch/Taylor)? Regardless, release it! I can't stand the wait anymore!!

Don't suppose one of them is a chubby guy with a cigar in his mouth who bears a resemblence to John Belushi

Looks awesome Scott. Can't wait for this one.
