I have just reinstalled BoB after a HDD death.
I reinstalled my PC with Windows 7 and now I keep getting the english text error when I click instant action in menu. I never had this on my old XP install, so I am wondering is this a win 7 problem?
I have uninstalled and reinstalled BoB, I have installed the latest DX9 version, but I am wtill getting it.
My system is
Win 7 ultimate
Intel Q6600 Quad core @3.00 GHz
4Gb Ram
Nvidea 8800GT 512
and lots of other stuff
Help!!!

I and many others use Windows 7. I run Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit.
Here is all I did:
Once you have installed bob II, you right click on the BOBII shortcut, left click on properties, select the compatibility tab and if you haven't switched "user access mode" off. You will then need to check the "run this program as administrator". Also, "uncheck" (do not check), the "run this program in compatability mode".
I do not check anything else except "run this program as administrator".
Like Stickman, if I check the "Disable desktop composition" On, then the in game videos do not work.
You must install the latest DirectX9c for BOBII and other games.
Hope it works for you.
You PC looks good. Any install issues?
Recommended Procedures for a fresh or re- install.
Each Step is Important
1. download the 2.10 self installer (just in case the first was bad/corrupted.
2. Uninstall old version or BoBII
3. Delete all files from the BoBII folder (leave none). [IMPORTANT: These old files left by the uninstaller can cause issues with the new EXE.]
4. Run a registry cleaner (like CC cleaner - a free program) as you had an old install of BobII (Very Important)
5. Reinstall BoBII game CD or Download version
6. Run (execute) the 2.10 the self- installers (only 2.10)

Re: Does BoB not work with windows 7? Or is it something else
DOH!! Do I feel stupid! I was using the original BoB CD to install and then trying to update that
But after finally digging out the proper BoBII CD it now works fine, all I had to do was to use the "Disable desktop composition" If I didn't do this I would get a black screen in 3D.
All working fine now
