And what a fine history of paints since! Still grateful for the work you did for me a few years back!

My first ever repaint was an MSPaint job for European AirWar lol. I remember being so proud of adding a number to that 109 hehe.
Great to see your first A2A paint Jankees and Bladerunner900

Lewis

Re: This is where it started for me
I don't recall date or exact addon, but my first experiment with the brushes was painting a freeware UH1D solid black.
Including pilots and everything. Looked like the texture wasn't found (maybe it actually was an error ) but started that thrill of customization for me.

Ha, totally black paints, I did a lot of those, albeit usually accidentally...
meanwhile, here are later version of my and bladerunners paints:

Smashing!
I just took a 45min fall into a simhq hole of my old posts from 2001 but unfortunatly none of the pics have survived and I couldnt find anything pre-2001 stuff from the EAW/MSN Gaming Zone days. Be wanred if you do similar it's a deep hole of nostalgia
cheers,
Lewis

Re: This is where it started for me
This was the first MSFS paint I tried. I used her as my personal B-29, back during the WOP days, while trying to teach myself how to do re-paints.
"Behind In My Painting" - Summer 2005
Shortly after, for Christmas 2005 came the infamous "Ice Princess".
Yes, it's impossible to un-see.
On the bare metal base for both of these I had actually done a bit of work on the panel lines and added the put-put door which was missing from the original WOP B-29.

It was about this time last year, when I did this one. Il-2 Great Battles, Battle of Bodenplatte P-47D-28, in a fictional skin based off of the August 1944 paint schemes: Sweetie y Raton Vaquero
https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/41 ... ent=715501
The hard work of super detailing it, including the invasion stripes wer done by Il-2 Forum member ICDP. I just took the layers he provided and added paint and other bits to it.
And of course, being on a roll I then made about six variations on it, including a speculative winter camo: https://flic.kr/p/2hmrTQV. And yes, I did go through paints that I believed were in use at the time to find one that might get dumped on a plane in a hurry if they needed a white one, though I think I landed on the wrong one...
Yeah, I do go a little OCD. I figured this was going to be the only one I was going to do, yet here I find myself looking at wood chips and leather tones, once again.
