bmp files in the default texture folder

Post by geopetlas »

Morning All,

After doing several repaint modifications to the C172 interior I just noticed some bmp files, i.e., c172_c3_l.bmp, c172_c3_l_FuelSelector.bmp, c172_c4_l.bmp, c172_c4_l_radiostack.bmp, and c172_c7_l.bmp.

Can anyone tell me the purpose of these files?

Thanks,

George

Those file are lightmaps used for dynamic interior lighting (dashboard and instruments). They can be altered in repaints. All except two are standard instruments and thus usually there's no need to edit them. However, in case you change dashboard colors, you may want to adjust c172_c3_l.bmp (dashboard) and/or c172_c3_l_FuelSelector (fuel selector).

Thanks for the speedy reply.

I thought as much and have just finished making the changes to the files.

Thanks so much for the info.
