As far as I know the modern civil version has a much more capable battery and doesn't really need a gpu.

Maybe it is just me, but engine often do not want to start and need multiple attempts.
After 3rd or 4th try battery is dead.

Then go to the hangar (shift-7). If your battery was weak or dead they charge them up there.

Would it be more realistic to have GPU, instead of magic charging ?

I just posted about the GPU that was an addon for Carenado and I found it works with the C172. Try it with the Civil P-51. Its over at AVSIM.

@ Artur: For sure it would be more realistic to charge or support the battery in real time. But in some situations it's sim-wise a good thing to have an option to quick-load your battery. Accu-Sim can be ultra realistic simming option AND/OR a learning tool.

@ tgycgijoes: Try it but I don't think it's a good idea to mix up the sophisticated internal Accu-Sim logics with external addons...
