Issue With Civilian P-51

Post by Firecapt32 »

I've had this aircraft for well over a year now and have had zero issues..... until now. I went to fly it in my FSX last night and had issues. Seems to be stuck in a "crashed" state in the maintenance hangar. Tried a complete overhaul and all of the defects return. Tried individually repairing each item with the same results. Won't auto-start, nothing. I tried to rerun the updater and said it could not update my P-51..... even though I updated successfully when the updater was last released. Any ideas? Is there a repair tool I can run to restore it?

Hello Firecapt32,

If the updater tool can't find your installation of the P-51, it's possible some of the installed files may have been removed or corrupted. However, please bear in mind that the site is under intense load at the moment due to the P-40 giveaway, and the updater will also be affected by this.

For starters, please make sure your default scenario in FSX uses a stock aircraft and not a complex add-on such as the P-51. Then, to completely reset the Mustang's saved state, you can manually delete the following folder. Please make a back up first if you wish to restore the existing engine hours etc.

C:\Users\[UserName]\Documents\A2A\FSX\P51civ

As a last resort, try uninstalling the P-51 and then manually delete the following folder.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\A2A\P51civ\Update

Then restart your system, reinstall and rerun the updater.

Thanks,
Nick

My normal flow for FSX has been to load the default Cessna at my airport of origin. Then I switch to an A2A aircraft. The updater did detect the P-51 but after the attempted update I received an error.... so something is corrupted on the P-51 only. I will try the recommendations above tonight and see what works. Thanks...

Deleting the documents folder worked. All good again. Thanks.
