A "well used" war paint?

Post by Skauber »

Has anyone done a repaint of this one as it would have been after seeing a lot of combat? Well used, weathered with dings and scratches here and there, as if it has seen it's share of battles? I think it would look awesome.. And even more awesome if it had a weathered cockpit to go with it.. :)

I do mine with default weathering. The result is quite good actually! You can go take a look at Frenesi for example.

Frensi is a great paint, the olive drab really suits the war used look.

I'm glad you think so, Lewis.

BTW, did you download the update for Frenesi, and take some new screenies?

sorry, but not yet.
I just got back from my fieldtrip today, and am leaving again this sunday, and a busy program in between. So far, I just had one flight with the P-51 on my laptop, which crashed after a few minutes.
But with a bit of luck I might have a look at the paintkit tomorrow, see what it is like, and then when I get back from my next trip, I just might do a few paints for this Mustang, and you know I like 'em rough and dirty....

Sorry bout that, I thought I had looked up the post in the finished thread.
I thing that Groups aircraft are my favorite paint scheme. Particularly when they added the camouflage to the upper surfaces like on Lou IV
