No add on on FX menu

Post by ChrisD »

Hi I have Feel V1 (2012) I am using FSXSE & my PC is Win 7. Feel starts installing OK, but then it asks to load Direct X. I then get an message saying Internal Error & the install cannot continue & to check the error logs in Windows. Feel says it has installed ok, but there is no add on in the FSX menu. The 2 error messages listed are DXerror.log & DirectX.log. The DirectX.log only says I am trying to load an older version. I cannot find the DXerror log. Any help much appreciated.

Hello,

please see here;
https://a2asimulations.com/forum/viewto ... 89&t=33313
The FSX Add-On / Accu-Feel Setup pull down menu is missing.
1. Using a text editor like Notepad, open your C:\Users\[YOUR USER NAME]\Appdata\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\dll.xml file and verify these entries exist:
(If you cannot find the dll.xml, In WINDOWS, open your CONTROL PANEL / Appearance and Personalization / Folder Options / View / then click on "Show hidden files, folders, and drives)

<Launch.Addon>
<Name>A2A Feel</Name>
<Disabled>False</Disabled>
<Path>Modules\A2A_Feel.dll</Path>
<DllStartName>module_init</DllStartName>
<DllStopName>module_deinit</DllStopName>
</Launch.Addon>

<Launch.Addon>
<Name>AccuFeelMenu</Name>
<Disabled>False</Disabled>
<ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
<Path>Modules\AccuFeelMenu.dll</Path>
</Launch.Addon>

2. Open your [FSX Install] / Modules folder and verify that these two dlls are there:
- AccuFeelMenu.dll
- A2A_Feel.dll

NOTE:
When you first ran FSX after installing Accu-Feel, you should have been prompted to load the new DLL. If you didn't receive this prompt, then Accu-Feel is not loading.

Evening Lewis I can confirm all the entries are in the Roaming folder & dated yesterday. I also confirm I have both AccuFeelMenu.dll & A2A_Feel.dll in the Modules folder BUT both of these are dated 2012 - obviously the original ones. I can also say I have never been prompted to load the new dll's when FSX started after installing Feel.

Regards

Chris

PS Hope its cooler where you are than here in Northants!
