No DirectX [RESOLVED]

Post by HAROLD SCHECKEL JR »

Bought the P-40 and it won't work, bought Accufeel and it won't work. Spent many frustrating hours trying to get them both to work. Iv'e narrowed it down to the fact that DirectX won't load because my computer says that I already have a more advanced version. Since we do need it for Accusim and Accufeel and since my game computer is not internet connected I have 2 questions:
1) is the entire DirectX application physically included in your installer, and if not
2) were in my computer should I place it if I have to grab it from the internet

Your stuff is really good and I'm trying hard to get it to work. Also both A2A and your community have been very helpful towards and I appreciate it. I'll keep trying.
Thanks,
Harold

Harold,

The DX installer is included.

What exactly is happening or not happening?

Scott.

First, sorry I posted problem on the wrong board, second thanks to Norforce who got me 95% fixed. The problem was and is I cannot load DirectX from the installer. I finally downloaded it from the internet and got it installed manually per Norforces instructions.
Now Accufeel works AND I can fly the p-40. The gear and flaps don't work but I'll post that else were BTW I did assign keys to it.
Thanks everyone,
Harold

Harold,

To make the gear and flaps work in the P-40, you need to press the button on top of the control column in the sim, after selecting gear/flaps up/down. This supplies the actual hydraulic pressure to move them. You can assign a key using the little program A2A included with the airplane to make this easier. Failing that, when you go to your Shift-3 menu there is an option to bypass this hydraulic feature... clicking that will make the gear and flaps work just like in most other airplanes... I hope that helps!
