I'm using the free version of the P40 that I downloaded from the website today. I also downloaded the accu sim update

It’s also important that FSX is updated.
Since you are unable to repair the aircraft aircraft that could indicate a problem with simconnect, have a look here here: viewtopic.php?f=83&t=38336

I have sp1 and sp2 installed before installing the software. I'm using Win 10

Hello Panzerman,
Please can you check a couple of things. First of all, make sure 2-D panel transparency isn't simply set to 100% in the FSX settings. (You can access this setting via the standard FSX menus: options ➞ settings ➞ display ➞ aircraft tab). Also, make sure you're using the correct key combination to open the hangar. By default this is Shift 7, unless you've remapped this command to something else in the FSX settings menu.
If you still can't open the hangar in the P-40, please can you verify that you're able to bring up 2-D panels in other aircraft in FSX such as the default C172SP.
