The P-40 shows no or next to no effects during startup, operation

Post by Busty_Bomber »

The P-40 runs on Prepar3D version 4.5 and one thing puzzles me, there isn't really any indicators that it burst to life or during operation. It hardly shows any visual engine effects. Was it always like this? There is the startup white/grey smoke but other than that, nothing else. Surely it's not this "clean" running.

You know this is a good point. We do model this but it's very subtle. Accu-Sim does have deep modeling of oil burning and being persistent, it would make sense that we modeled a more dramatic and dynamic startup as the oil and water burn off at engine start. So the system is ripe to model this. We can work this effect in globally within the accusim core code so we'll look into modeling this for an update.
