I downloaded the free FSX version of the P40 from SimMarket. I got 2 zipfiles, one of them containing 2 seperate files. After installing the 3 files I got only a cockpit in FSX. The rest of the fuselage and the wings were not there. I must have done something wrong, but wonder what it is.
Best regards,
JWS

Re: Newbe with A2A
If one said it was the P-40 and one file said it was Accusim, you want to install the plane first and then run the Accusim installer. After that then you'd want to run the updater found here:

If this doesn't help you then someone smarter and more official will be along shortly.

Re: Newbe with A2A
Alas, I will need someone smarter or more official, because taking your steps does not give me the rest of the fuselage nor the wings.
Thanks for the help anyway.

Re: Newbe with A2A
Hi JWS and welcome to the forums.
Are you using the basic disk edition of FSX? If so, chances are you just need to install the free service packs from Microsoft. You'll need both SP1 and SP2 which can be downloaded from the links below:
https://flyawaysimulation.com/downloads ... ce-pack-1/
https://flyawaysimulation.com/downloads ... ce-pack-2/
This advice doesn't apply if you're using the Acceleration Packs or the Steam edition of FSX, in which case please let us know.
Thanks,
Nick

Re: Newbe with A2A
I have only SP 2 installed (as far as I know). Can I put SP 1 on top of that?

Re: Newbe with A2A
Both SPs are needed JWS, so if you only have SP2 you may need to install SP1 and then reinstall SP2 afterwards.
Thanks,
Nick

Re: Newbe with A2A
OK. I'm currently downloading SP1, which takes hours.
Hope installing and reinstalling does not ruin my sim.
I'll report back. Thanks for now.

Re: Newbe with A2A
It shouldn't take that long but unfortunately MS seems to have removed the original download link so we're left with versions hosted elsewhere. You could try this one instead: https://www.fileplanet.com/archive/p-75 ... te-English.

Re: Newbe with A2A
OK Nick,
I've got the following files:
1. SP1
2. SP2
3. wop3_P40.zip
4. wop3_P40_Accusim (containing: P40_Accusim.exe & Accusim_Core_Update_v1.2.exe)
5. A2A_Update_02_04_19.zip.
Now after installing/reinstalling SP1 & SP2, I install # 3 wop3_P40.zip.
Then # 4? Only P40_Accusim.exe?
How about Accusim_Core_Update_v1.2.exe???
# 5 Finally or before the Core_Update (if necessary)?
Best regards,
JWS

Re: Newbe with A2A
Hi JWS,
The number installation order you posted above is correct, and you don't need to bother running the Accusim_Core_Update_v1.2.exe as this content will be added by the A2A_Update_02_04_19.
One thing I do recommend if you're reinstalling the P-40, is to check for and manually delete this file if it's present before step 5.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\A2A\P40\Update_fsx\client.wyc
Thanks,
Nick

Nick,
I can happily report a sharp looking P40 on the tarmac (wings and all).
Now I will study the manuals how to get this bird to it's realm.
Thanks for the help!
