Hello Claude,
The note in the PDF is a bit misleading I'm afraid. Unlike earlier releases, the P3D version of the P-40 was only released for P3Dv4, not for 32-bit versions of the sim as the vast majority of users have switched to the 64-bit v4.
However, you can try installing the FSX version of the P-40 into P3Dv3. To do this, point the FSX installer at your P3Dv3 folder. You'll also need to create a file called "FSX.exe" in your main P3D directory: you could just create a text file with this name and extension or copy and rename the existing "Prepar3D.exe".
After installing in this way, you'll need to run the combined FSX/P3Dv3 updtater which is available here.
Thanks,
Nick

Re: Installation ended prematurely
Hi Claude.
The P40 was made for FSX/P3Dv4 only , not P3Dv3 , the P40 for FSX can be tricked into P3Dv3 , but no garuantees .
1/. One way is to have a copy FSX load the P40 into that and use the migration tool .
2/. onther way is to have a copy FSX load the P40 into that and manually copy and paste all the P40 files over to P3Dv3
3/. onther way is make a copy of your P3Dv3.exe , and rename it as FSX.exe
regards alan.

Hello Gerd,
Do you mean you need to reinstall the P-40 in P3Dv4?
Thanks,
Nick

Yes, cause Simmarket has a new Version which has the

Re: Installation ended prematurely
Hi Gerd,
There's no version of the P-40 for Prepar3D v4 but maybe you're confusing it with the new installer for Prepar3D v5?
If you need to redownload your P-40 installer for v4 of the platform, no problem - I can send you a link. However, just want to make sure there's no confusion.
Thanks,
Nick
