Beautiful, I really really like this one for some reason. Love the ozzie roundels and the early type fuse roundel. 8)

Thank you so much for this repaint.

My father served in the RAAF and was stationed on Goodenough Island for a while. Whilst there, there were two Kittyhawk (as they were called) squadrons on the island - 75 and 77 Squadrons. According to my father (now 88 years old) he would watch them depart towards Milne Bay, and quite often they carried bomb(s) for their sorties.

Thanks for the memories!

Mal

PS the blue and white roundels and blue and white flash on the tail were done to ensure there was no confusion between RAAF and Japanese aircraft. In fact, whilst on the front line, most RAAF aircraft had all red removed from their identification roundels etc.

Pension day for me is not until Thursday but am downloading the paintkit now so that when I purchase the P-40 on thursday I will have a head start and have a few RAAF paints in mind.

Will just have to get my slaves ... oops workers to move a couple of the WBS Mustangs to make room in the paint shop for the Kitty.

Cheers

Very nice job - WAY better than I could do.

A29-99 was exactly as you said however it was a P-40E Kittyhawk. The RAAF flew the P-40B (Tomahawk II B's) in the Middle East with RAF serial numbers.

(Forgive me for nit picking)
