B377 thrust reverse, CH throttle quadrants and FSUIPC4

Post by Subwofer2 »

B377 thrust reverse, CH throttle quadrants and FSUIPC4... Can anyone can help me? I'm unable to use the throttles for reverse on landing... keyboard F2 works, need to use F3 to get them back over the gate... but when using the throttles themselves, they just fluctuate/flutter below the gate. I have a zero range set for each individual throttle, below that they go negative and each do try to go into this range on landing BUT, still, I must use F2 to reverse and F3 to then move the throttles back over the gate. I've tried to program the button presses using the throttles position buttons at idle and reverse as well but this never seems to work either. I'm not understanding how to use this Linda thing I've briefly read about via Google. Thanks in advance, I hope someone has an answer.

Also, I used the updater that searches and updates all A2A aircraft, one concerned I noticed is the installer has a message that the B377 cannot be found... (is this because I have the COTS B377?).

We've never gotten it to work with any reliability.. the easy solution is just to use the F2 and F3 keys. Seems the Strat just likes that a lot better.

Correct, the COTS is considered a different product/aircraft.

Scott sent an update to the B377 to me and a few others, a couple of years ago. The update made the reverser work for me and some of the other guys. I'll see if I can dig it up. I've build a new PC since then, but I'll have a look. I believe it was supposed to be released as an official update, but I don't think that ever happened...
Kind Regards
Tomas

That would be great as I have the same problem.

I still have the file (377_rev_thrust_fix.zip in case you need to find it on your harddisk), and could upload it, but only if Scott allows this.

I used 2 small lua scripts to implement the reverse thrust entry and exit functions.

They simply used the 'F' keys in a loop to enter reverse and exit it.

I posted the solution here several years ago.

I tried to post the contents of my Lua scripts here but some draconian 'protection' feature would
not let me post them. I am going to try something else.

I assigned one of my throttle quadrant detent switches to run the first lua when the throttle was
moved INTO detent and the 2nd lua when the throttle was moved OUT OF detent.

This worked for many folks but there were a few that still had problems.

The FSUIPC4 INI file entry for the switch assignment is here:

16=PA,8,CL2:R,0 ;//REVERSE THRUST ON
17=UA,8,CL1:R,0 ;//REVERSE THRUST OFF

I used my Controller 'A'. switch '8'. FSUIPC4 assigned the two luas numbers '1' and '2' (CL2,CL1)

Let's see if that draconian piece of 'security code' will accept this !!

Thank you all for the kind inputs. I have yet to learn the art... or even the basics of LULA. I feel this is where I will need to turn next. Also have some issues related to the B17... that's another topic, not for this forum.

Update:
I went an easy route and programmed three switches in FSUIPC:
#1 = F1 Key Press - does not repeat
#2 = F2 - Repeats when pressed
#3 = F3 - Repeats when pressed

When the mains touchdown, I place the throttles into idle and press button #1 (F1 closes the VC throttles). Enabling Reverser Pitch is accomplished by pressing/holding #2/F2 key until enough effort is achieved. When slowed, pressing #3/F3 returns the VC throttles ahead of reverse and I return to using the throttle quadrant.
