Reinstall/computer upgrade Problems

I have been flying the Strat for years on my Windows XP computer. Recently I upgraded to a faster more powerful Windows 7 computer. Now my engines will not run smoothly at all unless I am over 40lbs manifold pressure. Below 40lbs the engines buck and smoke pours out. Below 20 lbs I hear the flt engineer say over and over "oil pressure coming up, oil pressure ok, oil pressure coming up, oil pressure ok" more smoke. The outside visuals of the aircraft are elongated and distorted somewhat. I have tried complete reinstall no joy. Is COTS not compatible with Windows 7? PLZ Help.

Hello and welcome to the forums Cliff,

it sounds like you haven't set up your new system correctly yet. You will want to make sure the settings are set correctly with things like auto mixture turned off etc.

Thanx Lewis you are the best. As much as I fly this thing I should have known to check the basic settings. Oh well sometimes you cant see the forest for the trees. Thanx to you the Strat is flying well.
FYI the reinstall did fix my prop reverse problem. The same problem that has been addressed in the forum for several years. Now my Strat works as advertised. At touchdown with engines at idle I press F2, the props go into reverse. When speed is reduced sufficiently I press F3 to disengage reverse then I can increase the throttles and taxi off the run way. Before the reinstall and windows 7 the engines would not respond to the throttles after F3 had been pushed.
The only glitch now is that now I am left with ony the default Pan Am skin and only the Red Civilian skin for my P-51.
Also My long and very respectable pilot career for the Strat is gone. I'm starting over as a newby pilot.

Hey Cliff, for the repaints, remember on the aircraft selection screen to check the tick box for enable UI variations is ticked.
