B377 + FSX crash

Post by Corktip_14 »

Hello guys,

I've reinstalled my A2A B377 + COTS lately, but I'm running into a big problem. After somewhere between half an hour and one hour of flight, the game is freezing. I still hear the engine noise, but everything's frozen, and the mouse pointer is changing to the windows loading circle. At this point, my only option is to press Ctrl+Alt+Del and close the game.

I'm using Windows 7 64bits, FSX+SP1+SP2+Acceleration, and have installed the B377 as follows:

- WOS B377
- COTS
- Accusim SP1
- Accusim SP2
- COTS SP1

I only have this issue with the B377, as I have flown longer flights lately with other airplanes.

Can anyone assist me on this?

Hello,

Have you tired many other aircraft for long distance flights? We haven't really had any issues like this with our aircraft and these longer flight things tend to be FSX crashing itself or OOM errors.

When you installed did you install as admin (right click run as admin) also is your anti virus doing anything whilst you flying, maybe starting a scan? And lastly for now, are your drivers up to date in particular the sound drivers.

thanks,
Lewis

Hi Lewis,

I don't think I installed as admin, nope. My antivirus is on, but not doing any scan or whatever, and never gave me any issue before with FSX. I did a couple medium flights (2-3 hours) with other aircrafts, without any problem. I'll check for the sound card drivers. I will have another try this week-end, or Monday, with the 377, and will see if it's still happening. I'll let you know.

Thanks for your help, Lewis!

If my previous recommendation (altering the fsx.cfg) is not appropriate or wrong, please tell us. I have spend hours to find out and my intention was to help another simmer who experienced exactly the same problem as i had. it is disappointing if a post is simply ignored or deleted.

Narah, can you please point me to your post about the .cfg, please?

I've done two flights, yesterday and today. Yesterday's flight went fine, flying 2h40 without any issue. Today was more disappointing. I was flying from Kai Tak to Bangkok, and after about 3h30, my game crashed. I've come to think about something. The first time it happened, my number 2 engine was on fire, and the situation was about to go wild. Today's crash occured after my number 1 and 4 engine ran out of fuel (forgot to close the fuel dump valve, I was distracted. I know, stupid...). Anyway, my number 1 and 4 were of, I was losing speed rapidly, and the plane was about to stall when the game crashed. Could there be any correlation?

BTW, was my instal order, as posted on my first post, correct?

Hello,

Corktip,

the install will want to be assuming you are not a 2008 upgrade customer;

-Aircraft
-COTS
-COTS v.1.1 update

I'm not sure where the Accu-sim SP's came from?

Took it from here: http://a2asimulations.com/forum/viewtop ... 37&t=27211

So, I'll try to reinstall as you said, and will try again.

Thanks Lewis!

Hello guys!

I finally decided to re install the 377 as admin, did a couple test flights yesterday, and everything seemed to be fine. It solved it, thanks a lot!

Great news I must say that the 377 and all A2A aircraft are the best for my PC did a marathon flight the other day with the 377 from YBRM - FABL with a few pit stops lasted just over 30 hours and she never missed a beat.

Now to get my hands on that Cessna
