Course/heading selector

Post by simonflight »

Hi all,

I'm having trouble with the course selector. Occasionally it will only change it increments of 10 degrees. I haven't been able to pin down what causes it tp happen but once it goes into this mode nothing I can do will force it out.

Any suggestions ?

Many thanks

I seem to recall a thread about this quite some time ago. AIR, it is an PSX 'quirk' and
not anything in the B-377 itself.

Ok, thanks for the reply.

I'm a bit suprised thats an FSX problem, it seems pretty fundamental. I appreciate its not all the time it happens but even so...

Anyway It won't stop any flights.

I had this happen on my third flight. Seems like it doesn't happen to me on other aircraft, but it is a known FSX problem. Other settings that use the mouse wheel do not always give you what you expect, so you have to watch things carefully.

I did find out that dragging the setting with the left mouse button got it working normally again.

Edit: If I had to guess, I'd guess it's caused by setting something else with the mouse wheel, somehow getting "acceleration" set for the wheel, then moving the mouse at exactly the right time to keep it from restting acceleration back to normal. If dragging a control with the left mouse button resets it, then it's not a major problem.

Sorry to bring this post up after years.

I've found a solution for this problem using FSUIPC registered.

Tick the "Fix control acceleration" flag which can be found in the Miscellaneous tab.

This works for me.

Hope this may help

Hi Rosariomanzo,

I'm very glad you did. I've been looking for an excuse to buy a registered version of fsuipc and this looks to be it.

It will be nice to get the b377 out of the hangar again. Strangely enough I didn't notice 'Hooks' workaround just above your post until today either.

Thanks once again
Simon

I found that this only happens when I am manually turning or the GPS is turning the aircraft.
Once the aircraft returns to level flight, I can then set the coarse/heading selector by increments of one as it should be.

Hope this helps
