Enjoy a leisurely tour of Long Island and Connecticut, homes to some of the oldest communities in America. They also have their place in aviation history. In Long Island, Charles Lindbergh's historic flight began at Roosevelt Field; Republic and Grumman had major manufacturing facilities; and Pan American and Imperial Airways operated their transatlantic flying boats from Port Washington, using the sheltered waters of Long Island Sound. Connecticut firsts include the first controlled dirigible flight, the first practical helicopter, the first flying car, and the first flightsim aircraft that truly are "as real as it gets".
