Sunday 23-Oct-22 - Shipping up to Boston

Post by Paughco »

Fellow Misfits: Our flight will be from Yeager Airport (KCRW) in Charleston, WV, to Logan International (KBOS), in Boston MA. In 1985 our departure airport was named for then-Brigadier General Chuck Yeager, a native of nearby Lincoln County who piloted the world's first supersonic flight in the Bell X-1. Our destination airport is in Boston, which is the state capital and most populous city of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, as well as the cultural and financial center of the New England region of the United States. To help you better understand the culture part, I'm linking this song by the Drop Kick Murphies: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x-64CaD8GXw.

Our flight will follow Victor Airways, so there'll be plenty of navaids along the way. The plan is we'll fly our Connies. The flight is 552 nm and will take about 2 hours and 12 minutes.

Meet at: 1830z for a 1900z departure.

Meet on: Digital Theme Park on JoinFS.

Comms through A2A Discord channel.

Start at: Yeager Airport (KCRW).

Local takeoff time: 1200.

Weather: Historic for local time when you show up on 23-Oct-22.

Here's the flight plan on SkyVector: https://skyvector.com/?ll=39.6625879695 ... YBE%20KBOS

I'll post the LNV flight plan on Discord.

Passenger and cargo at the pilots discretion?

Or is there a set amount of each to load, thanks.

David: Run whatever you prefer. I pre-ran it this morning with the "light" fuel default + a couple clicks on each tank, and a medium passenger load.

Usually we come up with a reason for the flight - hauling rescue supplies, etc. This time we're hauling rabid rock 'n rollers to a Dropkick Murphys concert in their home town of Boston. Probably no babies in the manifest!
