Sunday, April 24 - Mustangs (and similar) In The Mountains

It's getting harder to find interesting places we haven't been to on our weekly flights, but I think northeastern Pakistan might qualify. The area features the Karakoram Mountains, the western extension of the Himalayas.

We start in Peshawar and fly east to Abbottabad, then north to intercept the Indus River. We follow the Indus almost all the way to Gilgit, then fly southeast through (and over) the mountains before turning west to land at Srinagar in Kashmir. Note: true to form, there are a couple of spots where "rapidly rising terrain" might be an issue.

Meet at: 1830z for a 1900z departure.

Meet on: Digital Theme Park on JoinFS.

Comms through A2A Discord channel.

Start at: Bacha Khan International Airport, OPPS.

Local takeoff time: 0700.

Weather: there are serious altitude changes (from roughly 1,000 to 20,000 feet) and LOTS of mountains, most of which we fly between. Unless historic weather is very favourable, to reduce the chances of a cumulo granitus encounter I recommend choosing Clear.
