Sunday 13-Feb-22 Arlington to Veronia

Post by Paughco »

Fellow Misfits: Next Sunday we'll be taking off from Arlington Airport (KAWO) and flying over the wilds of Washington down to Veronia Airport (O5S), with many waypoints in between to hopefully show off the scenic beauty of the area. The flight will be 292 miles and will take about 1 hr 55 min in a Piper Comanche. Bring whatever you want, but a fast GA, such as a Comanche or Bonanza is recommended.

We've been down the Pacific Northwest coast before, so this flight will take us inland. We'll stay just East of the KSEA Class Bravo, then follow I-90 over Snoqualmie Pass. Have the pitot heat on and carb heat ready to go. We'll fly down some interesting valleys in the Cascade Range, getting a close look at Mt. Rainier, Mt. Adams, and Mt. St. Helens, not necessarily in that exact order. Next, we'll fly down the Columbia River Gorge, then fly over some Oregon mountains (more like hills, actually) until we reach Veronia. The Veronia runway is 2,940 feet long, so energy management on approach is gonna be important.

Meet at: 13-Feb-22,1830z for a 1900z departure.

Meet on: Digital Theme Park on JoinFS.

Comms through A2A Discord channel.

Start at: Arlington (KAWO).

Local takeoff time: 1100

Weather: Active Sky historic, set for local takeoff time.

Here's the flight plan for our patrol mission on SkyVector: https://skyvector.com/?ll=47.0188398627 ... KVUO%2005S

I'll post an enhanced LNV flight plan on the multiplayer section of A2A Discord.

Keep on rockin' in a free world
