Our mission for this coming Friday, codenamed LWD11, is to continue in a general southerly direction, from El Carano Airport in Quibdo, Colombia (SKUI) to Francisco Secada Vignetta Airport in Iquitos, Peru (SPQT). Our route will be over Mountains (with volcanoes, natch), and a blast across steamy jungles to the Amazon River. Hey, we can't really say we saw South America if we don't get a chance for a canoe trip on the Amazon, right? I saw on YouTube that the South American crocodiles are much mellower than the African crocodiles we saw on our Great Rift trip. But the piranhas are supposed to be a whole other story. The flight will be 670 miles, which will take us about 2 hr 29 min in our trusty P-51s. We'll actually cross the Equator on this flight!

Thank you for your hospitality and a very enjoyable, albeit, demanding flight. Never in my wildest dreams did I expect to fly 670nm straight off. Flying past at least five serviceable airports. Which, as it turned out, was no bad thing. There was only one take off and one landing to make a balls up of.
I'll be back.
I'll be back.
