The Misfit Squadron Great Rift Valley Tour

Running from the Beqaa Valley in Lebanon to Mozambique in Southeast Africa, the Great Rift Valley is a series of geographic trenches almost four thousand miles long. It runs through the Sea of Galilee, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and the Red Sea to the Horn of Africa, where we begin our trip in the Republic of Djibouti.

Over the next few weeks our 3,000-mile trip will cover both the Western Rift Valley and the Eastern Rift Valley. The Western Rift is bordered by some of the highest mountains in Africa, and it contains the Rift Valley Lakes; these include Lake Tanganyika, which is almost 5,000 feet deep. The Eastern Rift includes sights like Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa, and the huge crater of Ngorongoro, the world's largest inactive, intact and unfilled volcanic caldera.

Our tour begins on Friday, August 7 at 1800 Zulu. Meet at Djibouti-Ambouli International Airport, HDAM. We're flying this one in warbirds, planning on around 400 - 500 miles per session, and we start in P-51s (but feel free to bring anything that can keep up).

Meet on: Digital Theme Park on JoinFS.

Comms through A2A Discord channel.

Local time: 0500 (0300 GMT).

Weather: Real.
