Sunday, July 26 - Cubs over the Cascade Mountain Range

Post by Paughco »

Here we go again in the Cub. Regular tires are fine; no need for floats, skis, or tundras.

Here's the SkyVector link: https://skyvector.com/?ll=47.6504025420 ... 132W%201S2

The flight is from Bowers Field in Ellenberg, Washington, USA (KELN) to Darrington Airport, Darrington, Washington (1S2). We'll see one or two airports along the way - T&Gs are good, or just flybys with looks at the scenery are fine, also.
Plan on showing up at KELN at 1800 Zulu, Sunday July 26th, 2020. We will take off at 1815 Zulu (1115 Pacific Daylight Time). We usually get our best weather in late July, so we should use real weather. If it turns cruddy on us then we can just go with fair weather.

The flight will take about 1 hr 39 min. Most of the flight can be flown down in the valleys, but I think you'll get better vistas from 4,500 feet or so. Plus there's one pass that you'll need to climb to about 6,000 for, so a little altitude is nice. Once we reach Darrington we can secure our aircraft and walk over to the Darrington IGA market. The deli there has really great fried chicken.

Standard setup: the DigitalThemePark on JoinFS and comms on Discord A2A MP Flying Chat 1.
