VFR Norway Coast (Friday Tour)

Post by ianfisher 101 »

Captains

This is something I've always wanted to fly so with the end of our Oshkosh flight I offer this as our next Friday tour. It's 1300 nm so I reckon about 5-6 weeks to complete. Aircraft will be a classic VFR cruiser the Cessna C-182 Skylane. Plenty of airports along the way for low approaches or touch and go's. Real time, real weather.
Starting next Friday July 3rd. 1800z. All welcome.

Ian: Are we gonna do the whole flight in one shot? Just checkin'. Might need to rendezvous with a KC-97 if so.

Hi Alan

Good question, but I did give this info in the first post. It's 1300 miles so I reckon about 4-5 weeks to complete it, flying 250-300 miles a leg.

I could get the whole thing done in about an hour in my F6 Lightning, no tanker required. :D

So onto leg Four on Friday 24th July. We start where we left of last week at ENKB. If we aim for ENZY or nearby that should give us one more leg to complete the flight. Aircraft C182. All welcome.

And so onto the final leg of our current tour of Norway. We'll begin leg Five on Friday 31st July at ENZV where we finished last week. As this final leg is expected to be around Two hours 30mins in duration I suggest rather than flying on local time we actually fly on Zulu time so we don't run out of daylight. I have updated the flight plan to make it a bit more interesting for our final outing.

Meet at 1745
