March 18th MP Flight - Silver Spitfire final leg

Post by Dreamsofwings »

I'll be flying the final leg of the Silver Spitfire - The Longest Flight route on Wednesday evening if anyone would like to come along for a hop from Lelystad Airport in the Netherlands to Goodwood/Chichester in Old Blighty ? It's been great fun flying some of the legs with other A2A pilots. One of the reasons behind the Silver Spitfire expedition was to honour those connected to, and who had fought in the Spitfire, but also to celebrate a new more peaceful time when we can appreciate the beauty of this bare metal work of art. I can't think of a better way to finish it than alongside the multinational team of intrepid pilots of the Misfit Squadron! :D
(I will be using footage of the flight for a video on my channel but will not be recording the voice chat so it's free fire on the banter!)

Meet up on JoinFS Digital Theme Park server at 19:00 UTC for departure as soon as ready.
Date and Time for off-blocks (5th Dec 2019 11:40 UTC) for anyone wanting to set real world weather.
Skyvector Flight Plan: https://skyvector.com/?ll=51.2873446399 ... 27W%20EGHR

**Please note I can be flexible with the timing and date so if there is a date/time that works better to allow more people to join then please do shout out and let's see if we can put it together. I don't want to interfere with the normal flying program, especially seeing as I haven't been able to join for some time and have no right to suddenly pop up!, but if it's easier to run this next Sunday, for example, then I am sure my family will give me a Sunday night off!!**

I (and the Governor of California) have cleared my week to be there whenever it happens, Dreams. Big day!
You already have my PR scheme. :D

Ah it could be the Battle of Britain group flight all over again! That was an incredible collection of Spits.
Keeping everything that is crossable crossed for you Rob!

That flight looks like fun!

OK, I'm checking the times, here. We're supposed to meet up at 19:00 Zulu on March 18th. According to this online Time Converter https://www.worldtimebuddy.com/, that's 12:00 (noon) Pacific Daylight Time, Wednesday March 18th.

Ratty, does that look correct to you?

OK, time to start working on currency in the Mk II Spitfire.

That's what I figured (but then I can't even follow a course I planned, so take that with a pinch of salt).

Big thanks Lewis though I am sorry of the impact this current situ is having.
Will be good to have you along!
Yes Orbx is beautiful and a great little airfield to finish off on.

Great stuff, thanks Toby! I will add that in.
Meant to say to you the real Silver Spit did some time in the RNAF at the end of the war so it's only fitting that this last leg starts off in your wonderful country!
