Feb 14th MP flight GA through Fiordland!

Post by Corsair015 »

The second of a two part series exploring small airports and interesting terrains throughout New Zealand
This week we will be focusing on Fiordland, a section of New Zealand filled with narrow valleys and Fiords. Just ripe for a hair raising GA adventure!
We will be flying through some very interesting terrain, part of which is over water, so bring your life jackets!!
We also will be crossing many ridges, so could someone please find a terrain-aware copilot for Ratty? Thanks.

Airports we will be visiting along the way will be
Milford Sound NZMF
Wanaka NZWF (Warbird Capital of New Zealand)
Omarama NZOA
and if we have time, Glentanner NZGT

The last two are optional, as the flight does run a bit long if you want to go that far. We will make a decision on the day
Total flight distance including the optional stops is 273nm, but we can cut a third out of that if we are taking too long.

Meet time: 2000z
Take off by: 2030z
Aircraft: Fast GA
Sim Time: Set time to real. 0900 New Zealand Time
Weather: Set to real, forecast looks good.

Looks like a good time! I would love to use all that Orbx NZ that I bought. Not sure that I can make it but will try.
