Multiplayer question

Post by Bruce66 »

Sorry if this is a dumb question.

I have done multiplayer with other games etc and they usually say that all players must have the same version of the game. Is this true with FSX?

I have FSX-SE and my friend is using P3D v4. Can we fly multiplayer together?

I am guessing we would need the same scenery and planes.

The JoinFS app allows FSX, FSX-SE and all versions of P3D to fly together on line. It is free and simple to install.

Aye, for the weekly community flights, its a relaxed environment using JoinFS to enable everyone, even XP flyers to join in.

Or, fly with the A2A Misfit Squadron on our weekly MP flights! Check out this link for info on how to get started: viewtopic.php?f=79&t=63659.

Seems like the server that I put in the link is no longer available, so now we use CyberAvia, or whatever works. We're flying along, talking on Discord, and we can see each other because we're all on the same server on JoinFS. Last week we even changed servers on the fly, so to speak. Our flights are very informal. Last week we flew from a paved strip in B.C., Canada out to a remote strip on Quesnel Lake. Most of us were in Cessna 182s, but I flew in my T-6. One guy actually got into and out of Quesnel Lake Airstrip in a Spitfire!

We have a lot of fun. Well, the guys flying in P3D make sure that there is NO entertainment whatsoever.

So I got JoinFS and Discord installed and working!

When are these flights - I have looked around and I think you mention regular Sunday flights and taking off on time but I could not find the time....

Hi! I'm just about to post the details of the next flight. We hold them on Sundays at 1800 UTC. For me in California that's 11am, in the UK it's 7pm, and in New Zealand it's Monday morning; it's about the best coverage we can get.

We generally start to gather around 15 minutes before the hour, in quest of an on-the-hour takeoff, but there's no rush. If you need help configuring JoinFS (you will) there's no more helpful or approachable bunch of guys on the planet. I look forward to seeing you up there!
