Hmmm, I wonder if I brought my C-47 to the flight, if I might make money on the side flying some cargo. Maybe some smuggler’s blues....

At 150 knots I made it 1h 52 m, which is longer than we've been flying recently. I figured there are plenty of airports along the way, so people can bail when they reach their limit. Of course, that means no "group" shot at the end. Opinions, guys?Tobus75 wrote:Cool!! ... but ...
At 150kts this comes down to 2hr17 of flight time, which is a bit too long for my taste.
May I suggest the following edit? Same cays except Eleuthera (which gives long stretches over water anyways) in slightly different order, flight time 1h25.

I personally think Ratty's idea works well, with people being able to drop out as they wish also It would be interesting to fly a long one this week. But that's just meratty wrote:At 150 knots I made it 1h 52 m, which is longer than we've been flying recently. Ratty: Thank you for proposing this flight. Looks great!
Definitely count me in. Not sure if I want to fly the Comanche, the Bonanza, or maybe my MJ C-47. The time of flight is not a factor for me, especially this time of year. Either Ratty's original route, or the slightly shorter alternate would be just great. For now I'll base planning on the original, full route.

I will try my best to do the full route, but I have a few time constraints that may get in the way

I'm fine either way, as long as we fly the same route together. If the original, maybe I'll bail, maybe not, we'll see.ratty wrote:At 150 knots I made it 1h 52 m, which is longer than we've been flying recently. We can decide on the spot when we log on on the tarmac at Freeport.
Re: January 20 Group Flight - GA Bahamas Tour
We always seem to have a lot of time at the beginning. Why not take our group shot before we take off? I flew part of the run in my Bonanaza and it looks great! Perfect opportunity for formation practice. The Comanche would be at least 15 knots slower and the C-47 might have problems with the destination runway.

I still don't know if I will be available for this flight, but for those interested. You an land(and reuse) the C-47 at MYXB. I was even loaded heavy. My brakes may be a bit warm, but the ac is usable. Hmmm, shall we smuggle a we bit o' rum while in these parts?
Cheers, Chris
