Been flying more responsibly lately, as in actually turning on the navigation lights. Only to find that after a while they disappear from internal and external views. The only thing I can think of is that it may be something to do with PTA. Just wondering if anyone has had and resolved this problem before.
Cheers.
Steve.
Nav lights dissapear after about 15 - 20 mins.

Obvious question Steve
...but have to ask it... have you checked the MH for generator, is gen turned on, have you checked voltmetre when lights go out?
The reason I ask is that a constant "time line" may indicate Accumulator voltage drop.
I will have to test a bit Mate... I don't usually fly with lights on (there is, after all, a war on you know!!)
regards
Darryl

There is something going on. It seems intermittent and It's affecting other A2A aircraft, like the P-51 as well. Also, some of my other add-on aircraft and some default ones too but yeah, in the Mk II, generator is on and voltage bounces around between 12 - 13 volts.
I'll keep a closer eye on it on my next sortie. BGKK to BGSF next.

Okay. I think I have found the solution and it's a weird one. It was affecting all wing-tip lights on all models, along with some models landing lights, so I deduced it was not an A2A problem.
On a hunch, I went into P3D Options/Graphics/World and changed the Special effects detail: slider from Medium to High and all lights are now working again. I slid the slider back to Medium and all lights are still working. Something got stuck in the off position and needed to be woken -up.
What the heck is happening I don't know but that's what fixed it for me and all because I started running by the book with lights.

Yeah. I suspect at the Medium setting, cycling through the external views was turning off some of the 'special effects' to save rendering power and not getting turned back on again when returning to the cockpit.
Edit:
Looks like this phenomenon is linked to the cloud shadow blinking on and off problem. Nav lights continue to blink on-and-off, depending on viewing angle as I circle the aircraft. So for now, there is no permanent fix.

Massive current P3D pet peeve for me, esp in VR in P3D."Looks like this phenomenon is linked to the cloud shadow blinking"
