Spitfire in P3D
Gents, could you advise if the Spit works in P3D please? I know its advertised for FSX but I only run P3D academic I'm afraid... Thanks K
Re: Spitfire in P3D
Kevin, I've just bought and installed the Spitfire & Accusim in P3DV2.5 Academic. So far - and I stress so far - all seems well, though I've only done a short test flight with it. Please note that I installed it using the latest version of the Estonia Migrator tool. Hope this helps.

Re: Spitfire in P3D
Hello,
customers report that it seems to work ok however due to the P3D platform changes now and no doubt in the future it is not officially supported and is not a native P3D model.
thanks,
Lewis

There are also issues with the reflections in the glass but apparently this affects several aircraft and LM are aware of this issue, meaning a fix is most likely.

Re: Spitfire in P3D
That's odd, because panning round the external model of the Spitfire in P3DV2.5, I can see all the normal reflections on the cockpit glass that you get with any other model.
Re: Spitfire in P3D
Panning around in external view, yes but have you tried leaning out of the cockpit in VC view, the glass looks weird.

Re: Spitfire in P3D
Remember VC view uses a different model and is not designed to be viewed externally.

Re: Spitfire in P3D
I know but you have to lean out a bit or it's not realistic!
Re: Spitfire in P3D
No, I haven't tried that, and I will next time I have the sim running. Doesn't sound like a major issue, but I'll put Track IR on and see what it looks like, anyway.toby23 wrote:Panning around in external view, yes but have you tried leaning out of the cockpit in VC view, the glass looks weird.
Re: Spitfire in P3D
Just for info, this was fixed in the most recent hotfix (2.5.12945.0)toby23 wrote:There are also issues with the reflections in the glass but apparently this affects several aircraft and LM are aware of this issue, meaning a fix is most likely.

Re: Spitfire in P3D
After posting that link, I realised my mistake, as they had been discussing the reflections on the fueslage.
When I jumped in the Spitfire, I noticed that the glass of the cockpit looked strange when I popped my head out of the cockpit.
Nothing major, I just like my planes and textures to all work properly.
Thanks,
Toby

Re: Spitfire in P3D
Can the Spitfire be installed in P3DV2.5 without the Estonia Migration tool and if so what is the correct procedure? Fantastic BTW in FSX SE

Re: Spitfire in P3D
Strange no one has replied to this. Yes you can install without the tool.
Copy the Prepar3D.exe file and re-name it FSX.exe. Then direct the installers into your P3D root directory. Simple as that.
