Hi
I've had the WoP3 Spit with accusim for a while now, with no problems.
Today, I did a complete reinstall of FSX, followed by acceleration, due to some niggly problems, and also upgraded the CPU from i3 to i7.
Anyway, I reinstalled the Spitfire, with all updates, and each time I start the engine, whether auto, or full start procedure, the moment I throttle up, there's much banging and smoke, with the engine finally dieing.
So, I go to the maint. hanger, and it reports white metal in the oil, and a cracked cylinder- perform full overhaul, check all fluid levels etc- go back and restart- throttle up, and bang! there we go again. Juddering and smoke- constant cycle of misery!
I'd be grateful if anyone can help!

Might AUTOMIXTURE be set to ON in your REALISM OPTIONS?

Just double checked Scott. No, it's unchecked.

Hello Nick,
Can you please try deleting your .dat file from the following folder;
\Documents\A2A\FSX\Spitfire
A new one will be generated when you next start the Spitfire Simulation.
Thanks,
Lewis

Re: engine breaks upon each start
I strongly endorse Lewis' advice about deleting the .dat file for the Spitfire and trying again. I very recently experienced the same behavior with the 9-28-14 Accusim update using the A2A P-51, and I am led to believe from my own personal experience the cause was a corrupted .dat file.

Re: engine breaks upon each start
Thanks for the help guys.
I deleted the file called "spitfire.dat" (there are a lot of "dat" files, but I'm guessing that was the one I wanted). Started engine, and it immediately "blew", belching blue smoke, with the slightest hint of throttle.
Each time, I do a complete overhaul, check fluids etc.. I've even calibrated the controller (Saitek X52) several times, in case the throttle was defaulting to max or something..
This is very bizarre.

Okie dokie and your FSX settings are exactly what is stated in the manual?
Can you try unplugging your controller hardware and try starting just using the mouse to rule out hardware conflict.
thanks,
Lewis

Re: engine breaks upon each start
Ok, I think I've solved it Lewis. I did a complete re-install, this time, deleting ALL of the dat and other files in the A2A folder.
All seems well now.
Thanks again. You guys are a class act.
