Hi,
I have FSX gold edition (SP1 and SP2), WOP Spitfire and Accusim all installed successfully.
However when I select a spitfire and choose freeflight the plane starts in the air the propeller is not moving but the engine is running and throttle is off. After increasing throttle using interface the engine speeds up but the propeller does not spin. Landing gear is down and even when I shift lever to raise landing gear the landing gear stays down visually. These are only two odd things as I am sure there are a heap more.
I have uninstalled everything and re installed but always the same.
This experience is a very big disappointment I have just bought all the software to learn and enjoy but not enjoying.
Anyone had similar experience how do I fix these problems?

Are you starting FSX with the default aircraft, making sure that it is on the ground and completely powered down before loading the Spitfire? Its very important that you do thus first or problems will arise!

Hi,
Thanks for the info.....I have loaded the Spitfire at Southampton UK airfield which starts on the ground but the engine is already on !!!
I am confused as I would have thought that starting off at an airfield by default the engine would be switched off.
Can you provide step by step instructions as to how to setup FSX to start with the Spitfire on the ground and engine off by default.
Thanks

Hello,
the quickest way is to simply bring up the shift + 3 panel and select cold and dark. The manual for your spitfire is under your start menu >> all programs >> A2A Simulations. Give it a flick through as it also has the required settings for FSX.
Also I'd give some of the basic FSX learning center a go as it will not only teach you how to fly but most importantly help you use MSFS itself.
thanks,
Lewis

Re: FSX WOP Spitfire Big Problems - Propeller, Landing Gear
Hi all,
I just got the Spit myself and I think I have exactly the same problem, all the gauges are static, the throttle doesn't move, neithert does the propeller yet the engine appears to be running, no cockpit sound. I cannot access the maintenance hangar (I do have accusim) and clicking 'cold and dark' appears to have no effect, neither does autostarting the engine.
I did get it to work once, and that was loading the spitfire as the only change to the default flight. But I can't for the life of me work out what I did to do that!
I don't think it makes a difference but I bought the WoP2->WoP3 upgrade for the spitfire as I had the older one installed already.
Anyone got any thoughts?
Matt

Someone correct me if I am wrong but, if you have FSX Gold then you have Acceleration and should install that only. I have always installed Acceleration on top of FSX and have never had problems with Accu-sim products like you describe. Perhaps combining the three, SP1, SP2 and Acceleration is the cause.
Cheers.

I have Gold, didn't install SP1 and SP2...
Saw on another thread that the Spitfire had its own accusim update because some problems existed after a general update...all these symptoms.
After installing the Spitfire accusim update mine was OK...

Hi Nick. I was referring to the OP, where it was stated he had FSX Gold, SP1 and SP2. Just thought I'd clarify.
